This is the story of a young press photographer who realizes that life is not as simple as he thought, that bastards sometimes have a soul, that people change and that one has to, sometimes, make compromises. Everything that so many film directors or novelists have tried to convey about coming of age — about love and the choices that it implies, about our behavior in relation to others and to history — Ordinary Victories manages miraculously to capture all of this, and share it with us. Ordinary Victories is the work of an author in a state of grace who, through this bittersweet chronicle, never over-intellectualized and always accessible, succeeds in talking to us in a simple way about complicated things.
