Arzhur is an outcast knight. He drifts between the tavern and the battlefield in search of the next contract that will fill his purse. Needless to say, such behavior is somewhat frowned upon by his brothers-in-arms. After a night of excess, he accepts the deal that all mercenaries dream of: to win back his honor and riches by liberating the daughter of a neighboring king from the monsters holding her captive. But the princess he’s supposed to save carries within her a legacy of destruction. What exactly is her relationship with the three old women who paid Arzhur to free her? Where do her dark powers come from? Even she herself seems to fear what she is capable of.
