Sandrine Revel: North American Tour

news

April 25, 2017

During the month of May, North American comics fans will be in for a treat, as celebrated French artist and author Sandrine Revel is embarking on an extended tour of the eastern United States and Canada. Born in Bordeaux, an area she continues to call home, Revel has spent her life creating one incredible book after the other. This tour, organized by American publisher NBM, will be highlighting one of her most recent works, Glenn Gould: A Life Off Tempo (NBM 2016; Dargaud 2015, Glenn Gould, une vie à contre-temps). Winner of the Prix Artémisia in 2016 for best graphic novel by a female author, and nominated for the prestigious Eisner Awards (Best Reality-Based Work), the book is a beautiful tribute that brings the revolutionary Canadian pianist to life with hand-painted illustrations.

This series of events will also be the occasion to celebrate the first graphic novel by Revel to join the Europe Comics catalog, You Can’t Just Kiss Anyone You Want (Dupuis 2012, N’embrassez pas qui vous voulez). This book, created in tandem with author Marzena Sowa, delves into the fascinating and troubling reality of life in a Socialist republic, where the simple act of a boy trying to kiss a girl can be transformed into a life-altering event.

See below for complete information on Revel’s North American tour, running from May 6th to 28th!
