Born in Tours, France, in 1965, Laurent Theureau started his career in the arts in 1983, creating illustrations for the magazine Nitro. The next year, his first comics illustration was published by Jean-Pierre Dionnet in the magazine Métal Hurlant. Later, he worked as a model maker at Magic-Strip and he adapted Sam Shepard short stories into comics. From 1986 to 1988, Theureau published many stories in Métal Hurlant with scripts by Patrick Galliano. When Métal Hurlant ceased publication, he started working for the magazine À Suivre, where he published many short stories that he wrote and illustrated. His full-length work includes the art for the debut volume of the series Des Dieux et des hommes (Dargaud; Of Gods and Men, Europe Comics), in collaboration with Jean-Pierre Dionnet. This sweeping series relates the history of America between 1929 and 2147, in a parallel world where the gods live alongside humans.
