Régis Hautière was born in 1969. Currently living in Picardie, he is one of the organizers of the comics festival in Amiens. He has written several comic books and graphic novels: Le Dernier envol (winner of Angoulême’s “décoincez la bulle” prize), Au-delà des nuages (“best aeronautical work” at the Bourget comics festival) and L’étrange affaire des corps sans vie (“best album” at the Moulins and Olonne-sur-Mer festivals). He has created dozens of series for different publishers over the years. La danse des petits papiers and Une brève histoire de poussière et de cendre make up Abélard, his beautiful two-part graphic novel, illustrated by Renaud Dilliès. In 2015, the pair began Gaston’s Adventures, telling the tale of Abélard’s fellow traveler. Hautière’s other notable work includes the two-part thriller Perico, set in 1950s Cuba, created alongside Philippe Berthet (Dargaud, Europe Comics in English).
