During his early years, Mika spent his free time drawing, inspired primarily by manga and the Japanese style. When in the early 2000s manga started to arrive in the European publishing market, however, French publishers were not yet ready for this new art form. Mika turned to traditional Franco-Belgian comics, taking part in two collective volumes, the Contes du Korrigan (2004) and Les Contes de Brocéliande (2005). In 2006, he created his first full-length work, Les Larmes de fées (Soleil), with a script by François Debois. With two friends, he then took a chance in Japan, where he met with the most important manga publishers. Once back in France, he created the manga series Pen Dragon (Les Humanoïdes associés). In 2018, he joined with Jérémy to create the fantasy horror graphic novel Layla, published by Dargaud (Europe Comics in English).
