Hubert Reeves is, without a doubt, the most well-known French-speaking astrophysicist in the world. Born in Montreal, he went to work for NASA as a scientific counselor in 1953, then starting in 1960 he worked with the Institute for Space Studies of New York. Since 1965, Hubert Reeves has also been the research supervisor at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Paris. He is now president of the association “Humanity and Biodiversity,” commander of the Legion of Honor, companion of the Order of Canada, and officer of the National Order of Quebec. His most recent work includes the graphic novel Hubert Reeves nous explique (Le Lombard; Hubert Reeves explains…, Europe Comics), an illustrated guide to the natural world for all ages, created along with Nelly Boutinot and Daniel Casanave.
