Joël Callède was only ten years old when he created his first comics. It was a sign of things to come, as he would soon be devoting himself wholly to the craft. It was during his military service that he met Sylvain Vallée, who would introduce him to the professional side of the field. Within the span of a few years, Callède had made his mark with publisher Delcourt, followed by Dupuis, with Damoclès, and Dargaud, with the trilogy Karma Salsa. Then, in 2014, he joined the extended XIII family by writing the script for volume 7 of the series XIII Mystery, illustrated by Sylvain Vallée (Dargaud; Europe Comics/Cinebook in English).
