Aude Mermilliod can't seem to stay still! Originally from Lyon, she left her home city after high school to pursue her studies at the School of Beaux-Arts in Toulouse. Living next to a bookshop/gallery, she discovered the ninth art by reading an innumerable quantity of comics and graphic novels, and by meeting a plethora of people. Her first projects were collaborations in Bagarre and Jukebox, followed by a move to Brussels, where she refined her drawing style and narrative technique. She spent 2014 in Montreal, where she worked in a studio alongside two independent publishing houses. Through encounters made there, she published Les Reflets changeants, which won an important young artists' prize in 2015. Next came the graphic novel Il fallait que je vous le dise, published by Casterman, followed most recently by Le Choeur des femmes, (Le Lombard; A Woman's Voice, Europe Comics 2021), an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Martin Winckler.
