Author Antoine Maurel was born in Paris in 1981. He studied literature in school before turning to journalism and marketing upon graduation. Drawn to fiction writing from a young age, Maurel broke into the comics world in 2007 with Noirhomme (Casterman), illustrated by Hamo, a series which continued through 2010. A few years later, he was given the chance to go to work on the children’s fantasy adventure series Golam (Le Lombard, Europe Comics in English), alongside scriptwriter Sylvain Dos Santos and illustrator Nicolas Sauge.
