Giovanni Rigano was born on December 8, 1977 in Cantù, Italy. After studying science, he joined the Milan School of Comics at the age of 19. An education that allowed him to collaborate with renowned communication agencies. He then entered the Disney Academy, where he was involved in the creation of several series produced by the company. In 2003, he illustrated the second volume of Monster Allergy (Soleil). The following year, he worked on the first volume of Daffodil (Soleil and BD Edizioni), a series written by Brrémaud. He then illustrated Artemis Fowl (French translation, Gallimard) and Migrant (Hachette, 2017), two graphic novels by Andrew Donkin and Eoin Colfer.
Giovanni Rigano quickly reunited with Brrémaud; together they created Lolika (Le Lombard, 2011 and 2012), volume 4 of Alix et Arsenou (Clair de Lune, 2014), Lehaïm (Clair de Lune, 2015; co-written with Boris Czerny) and, in 2021, Lettres des animaux à tous ceux qui les prennent pour des bêtes (Glénat), and Les Terreurs des mers (Vents d'Ouest). In 2022, the duo of authors are working with Dargaud on the first volume of Tête de pioche (Pickhead in English, Europe Comics).
