Two people are walking along in a small town, sheltered from the rain: Ana and Zeno. Despite the fact that they’re in their sixties, they’re both as charming as ever. No doubt because after forty years of mutual and unfulfilled love, they are finally together.
For a long time, Ana held the position of mayor. Passionate about her work, the decision to retire wasn’t an easy one. Wife to Giuseppe and mother to Claudia, Ana has led a quiet family life. When Claudia discovers that her mother is in love with another man, she threatens to reveal everything to Giuseppe.
As for Zeno, he runs a small bookstore that he intends to give up soon. He has also just earned his PhD, which has been forty years in the making. The topic of his thesis: “time that flows backwards.”
Throughout their lives, Ana and Zeno have found excuses to maintain their distance. But perhaps now the time has come for them to make a fresh start.
