Amad Mir was born in Iran in 1987. After studying graphic design in Tehran, Mir went to work as a storyboarder and background artist for animated films. Following that, he moved on to the video game industry, working as a character designer, before finally shifting to press illustrations and comics. It was this last career evolution that led him to come to Angouleme, where he helped bring to life the first volume of the epic Zarathustra (Dargaud; Europe Comics in English), alongside scriptwriter Richard Marazano.
