Philippe Martin, sublieutenant on the Paris police force, is on assignment in Barcelona at the request of the Catalan authorities. The body of a young woman has been found in a bathtub, her wrists slit. Everything points to a suicide: in the letter left on the bathroom floor, she writes that her mother finally revealed to her the identity of her father that she never knew, a man named Philippe… It’s been 25 years since Philippe last saw his ex-wife, and now she insists that Emma didn’t commit suicide—she was killed. Despite his shock, Philippe takes on the case and suddenly finds himself in the midst of a gruesome counterfeit painting ring…
